We launched the common policy recommendations for further developed intercontinental cultural and creative industries relations between the two continents: “Building the missing links with culture – An optimistic (policy) vision based on good relations between Africa and Europe – Europe and Africa!”. Special thanks to our panellists and speakers MEP Hannes Heide, Keba Daffé - Direktor of IKAM - Mali, Nenad Bogdanovic - Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations in Cyprus, and Henrik Sand Dagfinrud - Programme Director of Bodø2024, Norway for their great support and their expressed will to bring these policy recommendations into further debate and action. It is time to go for ecosystemic approaches, to overcome crisis talk and stereotypic views. With cooperation, we are able to bring forward better local (economic) development on the African and the European continent as a two-ways exchange and for common benefit. In this spirit, we worked together since 2022 which culminated in common policy recommendations to: • Provide better access to the beauty of both continents for a lot of citizens • Benefit together of a wide range of markets and opportunities in Europe and in Africa • Enhance (culture) policy learning by structural exchange between decision-makers • Invest in cooperative governance, common structural support and funding • Build together a fully-functioning ecosystem of intercontinental cooperation If you want to join our community, reach-out to investigate common actions, dissemination and other intercontinental endeavours!
