EU Culture Policies

EP Study: Future

Perspectives (2024-2029)

September 2024. We present our study requested by the Committee at the CULT Committee of the European Parliament: “EU culture and creative sectors policy. Overview and future perspectives.” We need focus on holistic views on future EU Cultural Policies 2024-2029 – and beyond! This is the main message of the study we have elaborated on behalf of the European Parliament. While important “bricks” (like the AI Act) for better cultural ecosystems have already been brought into place, the transformations ahead require building sustainable “houses” for cultural development in Europe. Four main areas of attention should be in the focus: Accompanying Transformation, Sustainable Ecosystems, Safe Space of Interaction, and Cooperative Governance. I was responsible for coming up with this comprehensive system of policy recommendations for the study which we complemented with concrete policy steps forward. You find our 33 recommendations in the study report! The responsible team: IDEA Consult: Isabelle De Voldere, Eva DE SMEDT, Tille Peters Imec-SMIT-VUB: Heritiana Ranaivoson, Marlen KOMOROWSKI Inforelais: Sylvia AMANN Values of Culture&Creativity: Joost Heinsius KUL-CiTiP: Aleksandra KUCZERAWY, Jozefien Vanherpe Thank you for the great cooperation!
